BBQ Roast Beef Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 Halenda's Meats Beef Hip Roast
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 tbsp Paprika
- 1 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Chili powder
- 1 tbsp Dried thyme
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 1 pack au jus sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your BBQ grill to high heat.
- In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a flavourful dry rub.
- Pat the Beef Hip Roast dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Drizzle the olive oil over the roast, and then rub the entire surface of the roast with the prepared dry rub, making sure it's evenly coated.
- Place the seasoned Beef Hip Roast directly on the preheated BBQ grill. Make sure to get a nice crust on all sides.
- Once seared, reduce the heat to medium or move the roast to an indirect heat zone on the grill. Continue grilling with the lid closed, turning the roast occasionally, until it reaches your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, cook until the thermometer reads 135°F (57°C). For medium, cook until it reads 145°F (63°C). Remember that the temperature will continue to rise a few degrees while the meat rests.
- Once the Beef Hip Roast is cooked to your liking, remove it from the grill and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it rest for about 10-15 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
- While your beef is resting, start making your au jus sauce to dip your sandwich in. Follow the instruction on the packet.
- Slice the Beef Hip Roast against the grain into thin slices.
- Grab your fresh bun and start making your sandwich with your preferred toppings! We added sautéed onions, dijon mustard, and horse radish.
- Slice and dip into au jus sauce and enjoy! WHAT THE HALENDA!
