Halenda’s Meats Congratulates Sully Hakimi on His Ontario’s Finest Butcher Competition Finals Appearance!

We couldn’t be prouder of our very own Sully Hakimi for his impressive performance at this year’s Ontario’s Finest Butcher Competition, hosted by Meat & Poultry Ontario. Sully’s talent, dedication, and passion for the craft of butchery have once again shown why Halenda’s Meats is known for quality and tradition.

Sully joined two other outstanding Ontario butchers, including winner Lou Ferrusi from Fortino’s Stoney Creek, in a thrilling final round where each contestant transformed three surprise proteins into globally inspired masterpieces. With only 45 minutes on the clock, Sully brought his A-game, creating stunning displays that celebrated the diversity and richness of world flavours. His creativity, attention to detail, and artistry in presentation made us all proud.

This year’s judges included six well-respected industry professionals: Mario Henry from The Yes Group, Steiven Canclini from Reiser Canada, Stefan Seher of Handtmann Canada, Peter Baarda of J & G Quality Meats, Jamie Waldron from Jamie Waldron’s Butchershop, and Gerhard Metzger from Metzger Meats.

Competitions like these not only celebrate the skill and artistry of our butchers but also highlight the dedication of Ontario’s meat industry to exceptional quality.
