The 2025 Royal Winter Fair brought together the very best ready to eat meat snacks from across Ontario, and Halenda’s Meats turned heads once again with a performance that made us proud, excited and a little emotional. This year, our Dill Pickle Meat Sticks stole the show and proved they are the flavour to beat.

Dill Pickle Meat Sticks Take Grand Champion and Judge’s Choice

If you love our Dill Pickle Meat Sticks, this news will come as no surprise. At the 2025 Ready to Eat Meat Snacks Competition, they took home both Grand Champion Sausage Meat Snack and the Judge’s Choice Ready to Eat Meat Snack Award. That means out of every single entry in classes one through five, our Dill Pickle sticks were selected as the top product for quality, flavour, texture and uniqueness. They earned the highest score of the entire competition and then impressed the judges all over again during the final taste off.

They are bold, tangy, juicy and impossible to stop eating. Now they are officially award winning too. No big deal.

Chorizo Sausage Wins First Place

Our showstopping performance did not end with meat sticks. Halenda’s Chorizo Sausage grabbed First Place in the Dry and Semi Dry Large category. This smoky, savoury, gently spicy sausage is already a fan favourite, and now the judges have backed it up. It is rich and flavourful with a bold savoury bite.
